Buckeye Cheer Stars Rec Team

Buckeye Cheer Stars

Buckeye Cheer Stars (BCS) is Buckeye Gymnastics’ recreational cheerleading program and is closely coordinated and related to our Buckeye Cheer Elite program. Buckeye Cheer Stars is a great first step to introduce athletes to the All-Star cheerleading world. Our coaches will focus on the fundamentals of all-star cheerleading including Stunting, Jumping, Dancing and Tumbling in a choreographed routine as a team.  This is an entry-level program; therefore, all athletes will be placed on a BCS team, regardless of their experience or skill level.

Interested athletes are not required to try out for a spot on a BCS team. Each athlete will be placed on a BCS team based upon their age and skill level as determined by the coaches.  Clinics will be held prior to the beginning of the session, during these clinics coaches will begin the process of forming teams that will appropriately fit the athletes and give our BCS teams the best opportunity to be successful. Clinics are not mandatory to be placed on a team but are highly recommended. Any Athlete that would like to join Buckeye Cheer Stars without attending clinics will be placed on a team by the BCS coaches.

The BCS season starts at the end of August and runs through the end of April. Each BCS team practices twice a week. Practices are 90 minutes each for a total of 3 hours of training per week. Teams and practice schedules will be emailed to parents once team placements are completed!

Competition season will begin in January and end in April. Each team will attend 4-5 competitions during the competition season. We will also hold a friends and family showcase in January!

Please note, joining a BCS team does require all BCS athletes to attend all competitions, the BCS Showcase, and abide by the handbook policies! Official sign-ups for BCS will start at the beginning of August, so be on the lookout for more information through the summer months!
